He is a specialist in the areas of drama, Théâtre du Grand Guignol playwriting and screenwriting. A playwright, he attended the “Course on Screenplay” given at the Cinematographic Training Center (Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica). He has been a member of the Yucateco Center for Writers (Centro Yucateco de Escritores) for more than fifteen years. Some of his dramatic texts have been published in El juglar, the cultural supplement of Diario del Sureste; in the magazines Navegaciones Zur and El Centavo, as well as in the compilation New Playwrights of Yucatán, edited by Fondo Tierra Adentro. He was an intern at FONCA’s Young Creators Program as a playwright during 2008-2009. He participated in the production of audio-books for the program “Book Club” for the Culture Institute of Mexico City (Instituto de Cultura de la Ciudad de México) and for radio programs from IMER and the University Radio of Yucatán, as a scriptwriter, musician and broadcaster. He has given the course “Dramatic Genres Theory” at the Mexican Dance Academy (Academia de la Danza Mexicana) and has been in charge of the management of the reading aloud workshop for the Culture Institute of Mexico City. He participated as speaker at the first Interdisciplinary Encounter for Professional Psychological Education. In 2002, he collaborated as a researcher with the Paso de Gato theater magazine and has published texts on film and theater for the magazines Castálida, B-side and Ápeiron. Since 2001, he has been coordinating two permanent projects at the Rodolfo Usigli National Theater Research, Documentation and Information Center: “Vertical Archive” and “Theater in Mexico: Theater Yearbooks”.
